I bought this to put small items and racks on. It's thin, light and soft, so it was easy to put on the shelf. I left it standing horizontally for about a week while I was putting the racks together, so it got wavy, but it straightened out again after I put things on the shelf. I put a cloth on the bottom shelf so that light doesn't shine through. It might be cute to put your favorite photos, illustrations, stickers, etc. in between the shelves

I'm using it on a low steel rack. I bought it in anticipation of my cat climbing on it, and as I expected, it's a good place for him to take a nap.
