Vegetable scraps and the like inevitably get stuck in colanders and the like, and they don't come off with a sponge, but this is good.

I bought this because I was stressed out about the sponge getting stuck when I washed the colander. It's good for colanders♪. It might not be good if you think of it as a replacement for a sponge. I use it to wash colanders and frying pans. It extends the life of the sponge. The only downside is that if things like egg yolks or the fibers of leafy vegetables get stuck in it, they're not easy to get out, and although it says to wash it with dishwashing detergent after use, the sliminess from the oil doesn't come off even after washing. For some reason, if I wash it with hand soap, the sliminess comes off, so I do that.

After handling raw meat or fish, the sponge will discolor, so you can't use bleach on it, but this one doesn't discolor even if you use bleach, so it's really useful. I bought more of these to clean the sink, and we use them all the time at home.

When I washed the colander with a sponge, it was difficult to wash because the sharp edges of the mesh would get caught or torn, but now I can wash it easily. I'm having trouble figuring out how to put it away after using the silicone sponge because there's nowhere to hang it to dry.

It doesn't lather... I have to rub it between my hands to get it to lather, but you can't expect it to lather as much as a sponge. But it's more hygienic than a sponge, and it drains well, so I use it to wash the bathtub! It's great because it doesn't get moldy!
