I used to think that there was no point in buying a special lid for an omelette pan, as I only use it for making fried eggs, and I used to make fried eggs using a lid from an aluminum pot, but my husband told me that I make fried eggs every morning, so why not buy a special lid, and as the price was reasonable, I decided to buy one this time. To cut a long story short, it's not really necessary. To be honest, we still use our old aluminum pot at home, and if you have a lid for that, it might not look very good, but it's good enough as a substitute, so I don't think it's necessary. However, the lids of the pots that are popular at the moment are often made of glass, and they are not as light as aluminum, so larger ones can be quite heavy. Round pot lids are naturally unstable, and glass is dangerous, so it is thought that it would be better for such people to have a lid made especially for them. As a side note, the substitute is only suitable for the lid of a traditional two-handled aluminum pot. The small size is too small, and there will be a gap in the egg pan, so the lid will be useless. The lid of a stainless steel pot is too tall, and there will also be a gap between the pot and the lid, so it won't be possible to steam-bake.
